Community Preschool

In the fall of 1971 the Community Nursery School opened in the church under the join sponsorship of the church and the Syracuse Primary Mothers Club, to provide       Wawasee and the surrounding communities an opportunity to supplement and support their teachings.

The preschool operated independently of St. Andrew’s until 2011, when it was determined that a partnership would help strengthen the preschool monetarily, with volunteers, and with spiritual support.

We believe that parents are their child’s first teacher, and pre-school is a way to assist children and their families in making the transition between home and  elementary school.

The Syracuse Community

Pre-School mission is to provide an excellent    age-appropriate learning experience for each    student.  The Primary students focus on socio-intellectual development, while the Pre-K students work on kindergarten readiness skills.

We believe self-esteem and self-worth are crucial for success and fulfillment in life.  Each day, emphasis is placed on the individual student’s development, creativity, and   talents.  The teaching staff strives to cultivate a loving, safe, and accepting environment where students are encouraged to explore their social, emotional, and academic potential, while building early foundations of a faith in God.

SCP welcomes students of every race, color, and creed, national and ethnic origin.
